Celebrating Juneteenth

Honoring Freedom, Uplifting Futures – Juneteenth at Imagination Leads
At Imagination Leads, we honor Juneteenth as a powerful reminder of the resilience, creativity, and brilliance within the Black community. This annual celebration marks the end of slavery in the United States and invites us to reflect on the ongoing journey toward equity and liberation.
Through our initiatives like the Juneteenth Book Giveaway, co-sponsored by Judge Erika Green and Rochelle Elie, we’re proud to uplift local churches, youth, and schools with access to literature that reflects our history, heritage, and hope. We believe in educating, empowering, and equipping the next generation to lead boldly—with imagination, purpose, and pride.
WE PROMOTE LITERACY
in communities of color:
WE PROMOTE LITERACY IN COMMUNITIES OF COLOR:
We accomplish this goal through various mediums: the IWE Festival, which is an urban book and culture festival promoting Black businesses, authors, and artists; Youth Literacy Engagement Sessions, where we provide on-site literacy sessions with children and families; and free book giveaways and donations to support community events and programs.
PROMOTE CULTURAL ACTIVITIES:
Our goal is to provide a range of cultural experiences for our youth. These experiences include college tours, guest speaker engagements, movies, operas, and programs. Accompanied and supported by mentors, our youth learn tolerance, acceptance, and appreciation of those things that are different to them.

OUR MISSION
Imagination Leads Nonprofit's mission is to promote cultural and literacy experiences and leadership development in communities of color.
